Man's persecution and important environmental changes have led condors , the bird also known as King of the Andes, to near extinction. Some foundations based in Argentina are fighting the extinction breeding condors in captivity to later release them in the mountains of Patagonia.
So far scientists and collaborators were able to raise and release 83 condors in South America.
