A farmer shows a pod containing a single soybean, instead of the typical three in a field near Salto, Argentina .The plants should be 2 feet tall, but this year barely reached one feet as result of a long drought in the Pampas, the more productive region of the country. Soybean production in Argentina, the third-largest exporter of soybeans, will fall to 36.2 million tons this year, the lowest in four years and down 27 percent from last year.
